Hi Friends -
Happy summer! As I write this note to you, I'm slightly distracted by a couple of loons swimming by on the lake. Gotta love Minnesota in the summer.
After a very busy spring on the road from California to Carolina, I'm back on the road this week in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Sussex (WI)
Rockford (IL)
Glen Ellyn (IL)
Other upcoming concerts (all in Minnesota) include St. Cloud, Canby, Annandale, St. Joseph and Minneapolis. For the complete tour schedule visit the Warnersongs website.
So I returned home from North Carolina a couple of weeks ago and watched a rabbit eating the gravel by the front tire of my van. It was purely a guess on my part, but that didn’t seem like the normal diet for a cotton tail, especially with beautiful dandelions in the yard. My old pal “Google” told me I was wrong! Rabbits do eat gravel, but only for the salt content. They crave salt and he/she (didn’t look to verify, sorry) was eating the gravel next to the van where the winter road salt would have made its way to the ground.
As a kid, our family had a pet rabbit and I remember having a salt block for him. So watching my new furry friend eating gravel, my brain strikes upon a truly great idea. Sprinkle the weeds in the garden with salt! Instead of eating the good stuff, they’ll go for the nicely seasoned creeping Charlie.
Genius!
Ha! If this music thing doesn’t work out, look for me on the TV gardening show circuit. Anyway, all you gardener's out there try it out and report back to me.
Besides the great shows lined up, I’m looking forward to lots of sailing and swimming this summer. I’ll post photos on Facebook. Hopefully, you will also have a chance to enjoy a favorite hobby.
Peace,
Dennis
