DW Close Up

October 29, 2015

Hello Friends -

It's amazing what you can find hiding in the garage. For me, a box filled with old school memorabilia, including grade school report cards. Oh oh! More on that in a minute...

Some exciting news! My new CD "Beep Beep" passed through the first phase of the Grammy Award process. One more round to go before becoming an official Grammy nominee. Who, me? Needless to say, it's gratifying to be recognized by my peers in the music industry. I'm just a little fish swimming in a great big pond, so positive thoughts and energy are appreciated.
I'll getting into concert mode now, with lots of performances lined up between now and Thanksgiving. Check out the tour schedule below or on my  website. If you would like a DW concert in your hometown, send me a note and we'll see what we can do.

In December, I'll be returning to the Two Way Street in Downers Grove, Illinois to help celebrate their 45 years of bringing great music at an affordable price to the Chicago area. It's always fun to reconnect with my buddy Dave Humphreys, who has been booking the Two Way Street concerts most of that time.   I've lost track of how many shows I've performed there. Hopefully, my Illinois contingency will come out in fine voice and sing along!

Tickets went on sale last week for my April 22nd hometown concert in St. Cloud, Minnesota at the Paramount Theatre. Get your pick of seats now! The Paramount concerts are always a treat and I'm anxious to see the newly remodeled historic theater. All "the D's" (my band) will be there along with a surprise guest or two. We're working on something really special to add to the night. Stay tuned!

Okay, now about those report cards...

While going through a box of stunning elementary school papers and museum (refrigerator?) quality artwork by yours truly, I discovered my Mom had saved all of my report cards. Surprisingly, it turns out that at least one teacher didn't appreciate my carefree, enjoy life now attitude. My kindergarten teacher kindly points out that I was a "VERY average" student who could benefit from listening more and talking less.
Me? Hmph!

Well, she was probably right. The report card gave me a chuckle so I posted it on Facebook and received some pretty interesting replies. Check it out, and while you're there, if you haven't already, please "like" the page. I appreciate that a lot.  Maybe the Grammy folks will take notice and invite me to be a part of the big shindig in LA this February. Wouldn't you love to see me in a tuxedo at this event?  That would be
worth the price of admission right there.
