Beads on One String is entering its Sixth Printing next week! This couldn't have happened without the grass roots efforts of "Beads on One String" fans who have taken the book and spread the positive message of our connectedness not only throughout the U.S., but all around the world. I haven't a clue how many countries the book has touched. A few weeks ago I heard from an educator who took the book to the Philippines and shared it with kids there. There have been many stories like this and it sure makes me smile. I truly feel like we're in a partnership together on this project.
I'm currently booking the Beads on One String school programs for this coming school year. If you would like me to visit your local elementary or primary school, send me an email and we'll see if we can make that happen.
It's also been fun watching my new CD Beep Beep take flight. In July, it made it to #5 on the CD Baby list of hot sellers in the Indie (Independent) Music release category. Then just a few days ago, I noticed it was in the top slot at #1. This is new territory for me, the first time in my career one of my albums has reached that status. You can imagine me doing the happy dance around here.
You all made that happen by buying the CD or downloading the Mp3's. Thank you! I remember the work that went into this CD, during a very difficult time in my life. Such a positive response is heartwarming. And inspiring, motivating me to start the next CD. Here's the link in case you haven't had a chance to listen yet. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/denniswarner4
This past week some of you may have noticed that my website, WarnerSongs.com, received a major facelift. One of the new features is the addition of a video page, so you no longer have to go to YouTube to see the latest videos.
Please take a few minutes to snoop around there. Let me know if you find a link that's not working or a feature not acting as you would expect. With so many web browsers out there, it's not easy making something look good on everyone's screen. Still, we'd like to try. Send me an email with any comments.
As I sip my morning coffee, I'm sitting about fifty feet from the beautiful lake I grew up on and even wrote about in my song "Sweet Northern Home". And just like in that song, there's a pair of bald eagles down the shore with a youngster, teaching him/her the ropes on how to be the master of the north woods. Eighteen years after writing the song, it's "Deja Vu all over again", as Yogi Berra would say.
And the loons, ducks and pelicans! All this nature is very distracting and even keeping me awake at night. Okay, maybe it's the Perseid Meteor Shower that's keeping me up until the wee hours of the morning. (And we all know why they're called the "wee hours", right?) Anyway, I hope you're getting a chance to stare into the heavens and see some shooting stars. It's been a great week.
Next month, I'll be telling you about my upcoming trip to Nepal. Thanks for being a part of my journey.
